Covid has been particularly devastating to those with vision loss since they rely on others to help them get to vital medical appointments or to run necessary errands. Volunteer drivers are reimbursed for the use of their cars and are able to accept or decline any ride requests that do not fit into their own personal schedules.
Drive as much or as little as you wish. Even one ride per week helps a person with vision loss to remain independent.
Please be assured all our clients requesting rides have agreed to wear masks and practice physical distancing as much as possible. They know our drivers will follow the same guidelines to ensure everyone is as safe as possible.
If you enjoy helping others, please consider joining our inspirational team of volunteer drivers who make a huge difference in the lives of the blind. For more information, please contact: Vicki Vest at 800-639-5861 ext. 243 or email Vicki at vvest@vabvi.org
